Evening ceramic class
The evening ceramic class is focused on learning the Coiling technique and the main manual techniques in clay modeling, on the experimentation of some decorative techniques such as engobe painting, graffiti, engraving etc. The course involves a gradual acquisition of manual skills; we will start from modeling simple shapes with a cylindrical base to gradually arrive at more complex shapes.
The class is open to everyone, no previous knowledge is necessary, but at the same time those who are already familiar with clay modeling will have the opportunity to learn a new technique or refine their skills. In fact, the class involves the participation of a limited number of people, thus allowing me to carefully follow each of them, respecting the times and aptitudes of each participant.
The class also includes an introduction to the vast world of ceramic: to the processing equipment, to the types of clay mixtures, to the processing and production systems, to the types of colors and coatings, to the firing systems.
At the end of this course each participant will have acquired the basic knowledge and techniques necessary to be able to produce their own ceramics independently, from raw earth to the finished object.
Lessons will be held every Monday starting from October 7th and will last two hours, from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm. The course will last until June but it is also possible to attend it for just six months.
The class will be held in the San Saba district (at the center of Rome) at the Associazione Culturale Arcobaleno, Viale Giotto 21
